A
residency offers students the opportunity to sample the Picturing
Writing or Image-Making process while offering teachers the opportunity
to observe classroom facilitation practices. During most residencies,
students create either Picturing Writing or Image-Making pictures
and accompanying poetry. These residency experiences can easily
be integrated into the science or social studies curriculum.
Teachers
are encouraged to attend after-school introductory teacher workshops
so that they can run follow-up sessions with their students if needed.
