Image-Making Within The Writing Process:
Poetry Workshop

This two-day workshop will introduce teachers experientially to the dynamic Image-Making poetry process. Participants will begin by making their own portfolios of hand-painted textured papers. These textured papers will be used to construct collage images out of which poems will grow. Specific techniques for drawing rich language from the images will be modeled. A variety of poetry options will be presented. Class room facilitation practices, classroom management, mini-lessons, and integration into the curriculum will be addressed.

This workshop provides an excellent introduction to the Image-Making process for teachers who want to enter the process more simply. It can also serve as a wonderful follow-up for teachers who have been previously trained in the Image-Making story process.
