Follow-Up Training

Beth at blackboardRefining Classroom Practices
This custom-designed follow-up session is intended to strengthen teachers' classroom facilitation skills, share classroom management strategies, and answer questions.

Classroom Modeling
Invite a seasoned Picturing Writing or Image-Making teacher into your classroom to model various stages of the process.

Developing Integrated Curriculum Units
Developing integrated curriculum units allows teachers to teach the content they are required to teach in language arts, science, and social studies in a manner that allows all learners to become engaged and experience success. This follow-up training guides participants through a process of creating their own Picturing Writing or Image-Making unit specifically designed to meet the needs of their curriculum.

Class at workDeveloping a School-Wide Integrated Curriculum Plan
To develop a school-wide plan, participants will be led through a process of interfacing the language arts requirements at each grade level with the social studies and/or science curriculum. A progression of art and writing skills will be designed that spans many grade levels. With a school-wide plan in place, students have the opportunity to develop skills in two languages through the grade levels and across the curriculum.
